**Part – Time (20hrs – 25hrs/week)**
POSITION SUMMARY

The PM tech will be responsible for performing PMs on the automation equipment. The key to success in this position is familiarization with lines, attention to detail, the use of hand tools and the ability to follow written directions. The best PM tech is self-directed and urgent.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Complete PMs on schedule and on time being flexible to work around line production.
- Support Daily Production Operations: With supervisor, prioritize equipment/line needs to ensure optimal production quality and volume levels. May be called upon to train co-workers on specific equipment utilization and basic maintenance.
- Minimize Machine Downtime and Maximize Parts per Hour on the Line: Utilize strong automation background and problem-solving skills to debug equipment. Determine root cause of equipment problems and improve process performance.
- Oversee and Manage Assigned Production Lines: Utilize automation experience and problem-solving skills to become responsible for specific production lines. Document any changes that are made, issues that arise and solutions to fix and optimize the line.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing Methods: With supervision, analyze production techniques and machine performance. After the first 90 days, focus on one key line (identified by supervisor) for line performance improvements. This requires strong automation/mechanical/electrical knowledge and will be accomplished through machine software and component improvements, identification of weak processes (manual or equipment), and troubleshooting ability to test and implement improved manufacturing techniques.
- Support Assembly and Testing Processes: Work closely with mechanical and program engineers to design and repair assembly and testing processes. Assist in identification of areas for improvement, documentation and operator training.
- Facilitate Tool and Fixture Purchases: Collaborate with Managers to develop the justification for, selection, and procurement of tools and fixtures utilized to maximize line performance. May assist in new equipment installation
REQUIREMENTS
- Military or formal training in Industrial Automation Technology, Electrical/Mechanical or Electronics or Robotics or Degree/Training in related field preferred. Previous robotics/automation work experience may be applicable substitute.
- Exposure to machine troubleshooting, process control, CAD
- Ability to use electronic hand tools proficiently.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
